The Principal of Georgy Levitsky Secondary School No.1 Nadezhda Chalenko:

Museum of Battle Fame is the pride of our school. It was established 30 years ago, but in spite of such a long life-time and continuous interest of population of the city, it had experienced hard times in recent years. The building needed repairs, the walls had worn out, but the school administration had no funds to replace them. But a few years ago RUSTEEL Company and Far Eastern Branch of NLMK become our sponsors. Owing to their financial support, the school has changed considerably. Memorial to the soldiers who died during the World War II, Afghan and Chechen wars was restored. The school yard was equipped, the gym was repaired, furniture for the dining-hall and computer class, as well as equipment for consulting room were bought. And the museum gained a new life as well: windows were replaced, the floor was repaired, walls and the ceiling were mended, new stands and shelves for exhibits were manufactured.

We hope that good initiative of our sponsors will be followed by other businesses.
