PQ — «Soft» (Punching Quality Coating)

When GO is intended for production of laminations having complex shape for large generators or when E and I laminations shall be produced, punching (instead of cutting) is used for production, and service life of dies becomes an important component of production costs. VIZ-Stal developed insulation coating — PQ Soft — specifically tailored to increase service life of punching/stamping tools. This coating can be applied on 0.35 mm steel. «Soft» coating has lower insulation resistance than Carlite or S2, and its usage shall be carefully considered (consulting RUSTEEL technical support experts is strongly advised). It is not recommended where very high surface insulation is required.
